What is the difference between Biblical counseling and other counseling?

Biblical counseling draws all its information from the Bible. While we may employ common counseling methods, the foundation is rooted in the Word of God. We begin with what the Bible says, and build from there. Often, people go to a counselor because of a surface problem such as anxiety or depression. There are behaviors, thoughts, feelings, and desires that all lead to those problems. Biblical counseling seeks to find the root issue, and address the foundational beliefs in order to address the surface affect. As King Solomon said, "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he."

How do I schedule and pay for a session?

Payment can be made by cash, check, or online by clicking the payment button below.

What should I bring?

Come prepared to take notes, and bring any information that might be necessary. If you are assigned homework, please make sure to bring it with you (completed) when you return for your next session.

Can we meet at another location?

Only under extreme circumstances will Pastor Andy meet somewhere else. This is for your safety and his. Best practice is to meet at the office, or online.

What is your cancellation policy?

Lake Family Counseling understands that life happens. If something comes up and you are unable to make your appointment, please try to contact us by phone or email as soon as you can. We will try to be as understanding as we can, and reschedule your session. Repeated cancelations can result in discontinued service and charges for unattended sessions. We value your time, please value ours.
